The inspiration behind Obsidian is a desire to provide a personal and bespoke approach to clients within the fund solutions space. The heart of our approach is to understand and work with our clients so that we deliver services designed to meet their differing requirements.
Remarking on the start so far, Jody said:
“We are really pleased with the positive reaction we’ve received upon the news of Obsidian’s launch in Guernsey. We recognise the challenges of being a small business in a marketplace dominated by global players but the overwhelming support that we have received has re-confirmed our assertion that there is a desire for more agile firms that can offer bespoke and proactive solutions designed around clients.”
Commenting on the beginning of Obsidian, Danny Fox said:
“The formation of Obsidian allows us to promote Guernsey as the jurisdiction of choice and further enhance the Island’s excellent reputation as an international finance centre. As a locally owned and managed business, our flexibility in creating tailored product solutions to enhance our service offering allows us to provide clients with the high quality service and personal attention they deserve.
Having lived and worked in Guernsey for my entire life, I am proud to be able to give something back to the Island which has served myself and my family so well over the years.”
Finally, adding his thoughts, Kelson Seepaul said:
“I was really enthusiastic when the opportunity of starting Obsidian with Jody and Danny developed. Personally, I have always had an interest in business and enjoy reading about entrepreneurialism and tales of the investment industry. I am fortunate and excited that this all came together in Obsidian which merged my personal interests with my past experience into the perfect opportunity.
Our launch was a great success and we have been grateful for the support from our colleagues in industry. From my perspective its evidencing that the investment industry agrees with our vision.
When I am not working, I enjoy endurance and strength-based sports and spending as much time as I can with my wife and young daughter.”
