Why obsidian?

Obsidian is a dark, semi-precious stone obtained from volcanic rock. It was used by the Aztecs to predict and plan the future. As a semiprecious gem it is said to provide clear thought and expression, improve communications and suppress negative energy. Since we provide ‘a clearer way of thinking’, and help organisations and people plan for the future and work more effectively, Obsidian is an appropriate name for our business..

Who we are

We are a medium-sized management consultancy, established in the 1970s, and based near Cambridge.

As a team of consultants with overlapping and complementary specialisms we can offer a breadth and depth of experience that smaller consultancies cannot provide.

All our consultants have held senior management positions during their careers. This means we understand the practical issues that people and organisations face.
